Get Back in the Water, TiktaalikI read online that saliva is filtered blood, something that seems strikingly obvious upon giving it any thought. It was miraculous in the moment, until it was pointed out that all body fluid is filtered blood since blood is how our bodies move chemicals and fluid throughout our various systems. I saw someone go on to make the claim that blood is merely how we evolved from the ocean and carry our own seawater in ourselves to make it to land. I did some research and the conclusion was that calling blood our personal ocean is a bit hyperbolic, but sea water and plasma are high-sodium, low-potassium in a similar concentration.Did we swim oceans?
